LA Quick Hits Bonus Edition: Rangel Routed, Bad Cops, Chavez Breaks the Law and Uribe's Going

• The shocking news from Venezuela is that Hugo has dumped Rangel from VP spot (en esp.) and replaced him with a lackey, Jorge Rodriguez. This comes from the Fidel playbook. When Fidel consolidated his power he eliminated or marginalized all that knew him from the beginning replacing them with sychophants who owed allegiance to him and only him.
